VIVAX

In the last century, when he started playing music, there were no "mixes". Vivax took his first steps as a DJ in the early 80s in Lisbon, although in the 70s his appetite for spinning records already made him the preferred selector for numerous garage parties he participated in: a legacy from his father, a music lover of that time. He has played music wherever he is allowed to, and as a result, he has travelled throughout the country, both in more "homely" environments and in well-known nightlife venues, not only in Portugal but also in some European countries and in Japan. He has also dedicated himself to theatre sound design and singing. He began his radio experience in Coimbra in 1985 on "Radio Ivre," which left him forever fascinated with radio. In recent years, he hosted a monthly program on Radio Yéyé named "Henrique Cimento," where he shared his musical journey and enrichment throughout his life in each episode. In a somewhat similar format but with distinct characteristics, Alínea A was an endeavour that captivated him from its inception, prompting him to become an active member early on and secure a permanent residency within the association. He uses all means at his disposal to play sound, but his preference lies with vinyl, without any fundamentalism. Although somewhat empirically, he has a great interest in technology and audio systems, so having him around during the setup ensures anticipatory problem-solving, connections, and other headache-causing details... He has been an inspiration to several generations of DJs who have become notable names in the Portuguese deejaying scene in the meantime. His musical versatility allows for various musical wanderings along the extensive and diverse path in music, starting from "easy-listening" and encompassing House, Funk, Techno, Electro, Breakbeat, and ultimately any style associated with quality music. It is in this environment that he finds his preferred "booth," creating either an unusual astonishment or an uncontrollable urge to dance among the audience.
